A nicely patinated oak case with interesting inlay on the door, fluted hood pillars, 8 day movement and arch brass dial.

A good quality Scottish Highlands longcase clock with finely engraved brass dial and oak case. A handsome oak cased 8 day movement with a well engraved dial with attractive scalloping around the subsidiary seconds.

An interesting painted dial showing the escape of Mary Queen of Scots from Loch Leven Castle with her accomplices depicted in the corners.  An 8 day movement within a delightful light oak case with quater sawn trunk door and base.

This superb clock was made by the renowned company of John Moore and Sons of Clerkenwell in about 1830. It is fitted with a strike/silent indicator and is engraved with the company’s name, and the number 12385. The massive 7 pillar 3 train chain fusee movement strikes the hours on a single bell, and chimes the quarters on a nest of 8 bells.

Porthouse was one of Cumbria's most eminent clockmakers.  This attractive 30 hour clock is in a well executed carved oak case that we consider is probably original.

Attractive and nicely proportioned oak case with square brass dial   Thomas Ogden is possibly the finest provincial clockmaker of the C18th with many distinctive features in this fine example of his work. This fine mahogany bracket clock dates from about 1780, and has its original verge escapement, and strikes the hours and half hours on a single bell.
