This particular clock is numbered on the dial and backplate with no. 874. The arched silvered brass dial has a simple yet elegant engraved face with subsidiary dial to adjust the movement speed. The case is walnut with some delightfully well executed carved decoration and sound frets on the sides, top and rear door. It strikes on 2 gongs.

This fine mahogany bracket clock dates from about 1780, and has its original verge escapement, and strikes the hours and half hours on a single bell. |
