JOHN GRIFFITH of CAERNARVON and RHIWBRYFDIR (1868-1903)
This is an interesting welsh clock as it features an automata within the dial arch. It has a rocking ship set alongside Caernarvon Castle with Castle scenes on the dial corners and dial centre. It has a subsidiary minute dial and recessed date wheel. Of 8 day duration the movement is set within a a light coloured oak case with contrasting mahogany crossbanding. What is of particular interest is the makers dual address as it is unusual for clockmakers to have premises so far apart.
